Because this is life in 2020.
It’s weird, folks. It’s all weird.
Hopefully you’re getting through this strangest of timelines relatively intact. If you’re officially quarantined, hello from the outside world!
If you’re self-isolating to try and help, well done, me too! (Hence me finally posting here again ~silver?lining?~)
If you still have to venture out into the world, stay safe, and yep, wash your hands!
Here’s my all-time favorite hand-washing video (because we live in a timeline now where I have one of those…) by the gem that is Gordon Ramsey:
Ok so, if you are trying to stay (or stuck) at home for the foreseeable future, I would like to help. So one way I’ve decided to try to help those who are stuck in the same place for weeks on end like a rat trapped in a shoebox desperately searching the voids of the internet for any sign of toilet paper is…
By putting together a list of Youtube videos that I think you might enjoy watching. It’s not much, but it’s honest work.
Can we all just give a quick shout-out to the internet and the people keeping it running? This whole thing would suck SO much more without them.
Without any further blabbing, I give you, the “make-quarantine-a-little-less-boring” list.
A walk through the woods
So this is SUPER long, but if you’re in the mood to just have some calming background scenery, with some soothing woodsy noises, it does the trick beautifully.
A miniature dollhouse
I realize there’s a certain segment of the population that will think this is absolutely boring, but I think it’s relaxing and hella cool, so it’s on the list.
Beach House Goals
A tour of the place we all wish we could wait this out. Instead, we get to watch from afar. Torture? Maybe. But I personally LOVE home tours.
Alcatraz Escape
I do enjoy the creepy, true crime, and horror side of things (I’m a sucker for some horror movies, not gonna lie) so the Unsolved channel is one of my faves. This is one of many stories from that channel, told by two entertaining dudes.
A Winter Walk
Much like the forest walk video above, but a wintery version, for when you need those cozy vibes.
Giving the Vintage New Life
Christine McConnel is one of the craftiest people alive. Sewing, baking, woodcutting – she restores and designs all sorts of cool stuff. And her vintage-gothic twist makes her style extra rad. She also has a Netflix show for those that want to binge!
The Maker – A short film
This is a very quirky short about a rabbit(?) or something, and its attempts at becoming Frankenstein. It’s weird, but endearing.
Tape Face Audition
Some people love talent shows, some don’t, but either way, this clip of the contestant known as Tape Face is worth a watch.
Ted Talks
I adore Ted Talks. They do such an amazing job of choosing people with great insight. And the speakers do a wonderful job of summarizing an interesting piece of their knowledge and experiences.
Because I enjoy them so much, I’m including 2 in this list, but there are plenty more to look through on their channel.
Pirates of the Caribbean Parody
For those that don’t know, The Hillywood Show is a channel that does MANY parody music videos. They’re high-quality and very entertaining.
Amazing Eggs Benedict
This is one of my all-time favorite videos and channels. I go back and re-watch it every now and then just because it’s so calming and interesting. They cook using the forest as the kitchen.
Yoga for When You’re Stuck Inside
I’ve followed Yoga With Adriene for a long time. I really appreciate her explanations and method of teaching. She has a TON of yoga videos to choose from, but I chose this one because if you’re stuck at home, you’re probably sitting A LOT and might wanna give your lower back some attention.
The Try Guys
The Try Guys have a huge channel with lots of entertaining videos, but this series – Without a Recipe – is some of their best stuff, IMO.
Oregon by Air
Another beautiful video to get you out of the house without actually having to get out of the house. This video is drone footage of gorgeous Oregon.
Craft-time: Amazing Hot Air Balloon
I will likely never attempt any crafts as cool as this project, but man I love watching them.
The Rolling Stones – Ride ‘Em On Down
This is a music video starring Kristen Stewart. I stumbled upon it one day and just really loved the music. The Rolling Stones never disappoint!
Google Deep Dive with Jenna Marbles
Jenna Marbles is just good vibes all day every day.
Vintage PC Build
Everything DIY Perks does is fascinating. This time he’s making a modern computer into a vintage marvel. It’s amazeballs. Even if you’re not into tech, it’s worth the watch.
ASMR Bubble Tea
Chill out with this ASMR/recipe gold.
Alright guys, I think that does it for now.
I hope you are staying safe and healthy, whatever your situation in the world right now. There’s a lot going on and we need to work together to get through it. Take a couple moments throughout the day to consider others, and be sure to also take care of yourself.
You can find the whole playlist of videos here if you want to just let them roll.
Feel free to leave any suggestions for other channels or videos in the comments, or just let us know what you’ve been up to these past couple weeks.
As always feel free to say hi on Insta.
I might put together a couple more lists to help keep ya’ll from going insane… if I don’t go insane first. We’ll see.
